New England Ice Castle Adventure
The warmer weather this weekend is making ice fishing a little sketchy but don't worry the Ice Castles are still standing tall! Don't waste another weekend not going on this adventure. Located across the U.S. in New Hampshire, New York, Minnesota, and Utah these are a must see! There was a castle in Wisconsin for about a week but they unfortunately had to shut down after 3 days. Wisconsin Castle experienced a mild January, then after construction there was a major rain storm. All of that caused the Wisconsin Castle to shut down after only a few days. I tell you this story so you know exactly why there is a bit of a rush on going to see these castles, we never know what mother nature is going to give us next.
What can you expect exploring the ice castles in New England? For the adventurous side of you, start off by exploring the castles caverns and archways as you get lost in the magical world of the ice castle. Enjoy your childish side having fun taking the adult sized ice slides and tunnels (this is said at your own risk, but your adventurous so you will explore them). Before you end your adventurous time be sure to head to the snow tubing hill and glide gracefully down the groomed hill to really feel like a kid again. For the less adventurous or when its time to slow down your night, you will still start with exploring the castles caverns and archways getting lost in that magical world of ice castles but maybe avoid those ice slides and tunnels. When you feel you have explored enough head over to the Polar Pub and enjoy a winter themed adult drink. After your drink enjoy a sleigh ride through the magical lit up forest before being dropped off at the castle again. The Ice Castles have also decorated surrounding forests for you to explore and enjoy. The Mystic Forest Walk and the Winter Fairy Forest. Also if you need some special alone time to ask a certain question you can book a spot in the Arctic Alcove to escape the crowds.
Before I finish off here, let's talk about what should you wear to experience the most enjoyment. Start off with some simple base layers of your choice. I would choose something really comfy. Then on your top depending on the weather choose either your winter jacket or a simple pullover. On your bottom half wear something comfy and movable in. I would choose maybe some leggings or long johns then slip on my snow pants or rain pants depending on how warm it is supposed to be.
Enjoy and Be Safe
Rachel
